Algeria qualify to two consecutive World Cups in 1982 and 1986. and also won the Africa Cup of Nations once in 1990 when hosted the tournament. In November 2009, Algeria beat North African rivals Egypt in a World Cup qualification tiebreaker to secure a place at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Algeria is in group C, with Slovenia, USA, and England.
