  世界宣明會成立於1950年，是一個向世界各地貧困者提供食物，棲身之所，教育，職業培訓等等的基督教國際救援機構。其支援辦事處設於加拿大，美國，澳洲，新西蘭，奧地利，香港，韓國，臺灣，新加坡，日本，南非，英國，德國，芬蘭，荷蘭，愛爾蘭及瑞士。這些辦事處主要是為“發展中國家”的需要，向當地人進行籌款工作。 世界宣明會于亞洲，歐洲，中東，中美洲及南美洲超過九十四個國家進行六千多個社區發展計畫，有一億人口受惠。這些計畫包括清潔飲用水，灌溉，農業生產，營養改善，健康護理及職業培訓等等。 世界宣明會助養的兒童數字在全球超過三千四百萬，其中有多達八萬兩千個小孩子有新西蘭人助養，他們分佈與二十五個國家。助養計畫提供基本需要如健康護理，營養改善，教育，清潔飲用水及衛生知識，還包括提供一些職業培訓給他們的家人，給予他們長久之計的自立能力。 Click here to download our "What we do" powerpoint presentation 更新：世界宣明/展望會回應台灣最嚴重的災害-莫拉克颱風 於2009年8月9日,莫拉克颱風襲擊台灣後留下了許多被毀壞的印記,本次風災被描述為台灣50年來最嚴重的災害。 台灣世界展望會會長杜明翰說 : “莫拉克臺風的影響是災難性的，許多兒童和家人的家園和維持生計的工具都被沖走。我們為他們祈禱，並為在這些悲痛中喪失親人的人們祈禱。” 杜會長說: “ 我們將加快救災工作速度, 重建希望給失去了一切的孩子們!” 台灣政府有關部門已證實，截止至8月25日, 這次風災已造成全台461人死亡、192人失蹤、46人受傷，24,775人被疏散還有4,920人現居住在49個避難屋裏。死亡人數預計將會增加，然而仍有數百人在山區中失蹤，恐怕已被泥石流掩埋。 台灣世界展望會已經在當地安排了重大救災工作，特別是在偏遠地區。在莫拉克颱風剛剛過後，救援物資就已經被預備在許多受災地區, 從而使得工作人員能夠快速響應，給災民們送去救援, 如食品，潔凈水與和基本衛生用品等。台灣世界展望會目前正在進行的救災活動已救助了4,000多位分別在: 屏東，台東，嘉義，高雄，南投6個縣的30個避難屋的災民們。 500名工作人員和1,000多名志願者也已被動員起來分發救濟物品袋，並成立了多間兒童關懷中心(CFS)。這是特別為災後兒童設立的關懷空間，透過寓教於樂的遊戲方式，陪伴孩子以幫助他們遺忘天災帶來的不適及傷痛，也通過專業社工人員, 關顧災區兒童身心靈的發展. 到目前為止，已有9間兒童關懷中心(CFS)被建成, 超過280名兒童參加了中心的活動。另外兩間中心也會很快在網上籌建.   What is 30-Hour Famine? The 30-Hour Famine is a global movement against hunger and poverty. Participants choose to go without food, or give something they love for 30 hours and get sponsored for giving it up. The money raised is used to help children and communities living in poverty. Date: 6th (Saturday) and 7th August (Sunday) 2011. Time: 10am (6th) till 4pm (7th) Venue: HELP University College (26 hours) and Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.   The 30-Hour Famine is a global movement against hunger and poverty. Participants are going to get a crash course in global hunger and come face to face with the realities of poverty and injustice. We believe this will make a global impact by learning about world hunger and raising money for hungry children around the world through World Vision. Through service projects and raising awareness during our 30 hours, we will all get a small taste of what it is like for starving kids around the world.
