Pax Child AidHistory Pax Kinderhulp’s activities started back in 1961, when a working group of the Pax Christi Peace movement went to Berlin. It decided to give refugee children in the city the chance to recover in the Netherlands. This was the origin of the ‘Children of Berlin’ working group and in 1972 the foundation ‘Stichting Pax Christi Kinderhulp’ was founded. From then on, their basic principle was ‘to offer help to foreign children in need’. Initially Pax Christi Kinderhulp operated from Berlin, but in 1979 for the first time children from Northern Ireland came to the Netherlands. Five years later Polish children were also offered a holiday here and in 1991 children from Armenia and (former) Yugoslavia also came to the Netherlands. Each year, several committees do all they can to get children to the Netherlands for the holiday of a lifetime. ...for the children... Pax Kinderhulp (Aid for Children) Pax Kinderhulp concerns itself with the fate of children in foreign countries who live in dire circumstances. Children from mainly European countries where living conditions have been affected by war, violence, poverty or a (natural) disaster are offered a holiday. Through its aims and activities, Pax Kinderhulp aspires to contribute to peace, freedom and solidarity. Pax Kinderhulp believes in the good in mankind. The children are lodged with guest families in the Netherlands or in holiday homes in an idyllic setting. Pax Kinderhulp offers these children the chance to be a normal child for a while, with the hope that this will encourage the children to believe in a better future.10 supporters -
Disaster Relief & Rescue Operation (DRRO) CampDisaster Relief and Rescue Operation (DRRO) Camp is one of the annual activities organized by Malaysian Red Crescent Multimedia University Cyberjaya Chapter. It is an activity to train our members with basic skill in disaster management, and how to respond in the case of emergency happens around us. It is also an exposure to our new members, on the procedure of how our organization (Malaysian Red Crescent) responds to disaster, together with other organizations and authorities in Malaysia. Join this camp you will have the chances to apply all the things you learned in the first aid class to the real situation. It is challenging and definitively a new experience for you all. The Participants fees are 1)Non-member is RM 45 + RM 20 (RC-T-shirts) 2)Member is RM 40 Besides, it is part of the 7 courses which is required in order for you to get an instructor certification. So, do grab this opportunity to acquire the certificate as soon as possible as it only offered once a year. The details of the camp are as follow: Date : 28th, 29th and 30th October (Friday to Sunday) Venue : Kem Wirajaya,Forest Resort, Sungai Congkak Fees : non-member is RM 45(including t-shirts\) member is RM 40(Including t-shirt) This won't be only classes/lecture. There will be games, case simulations, and others fun activities awaiting you. Members and non-members are welcome to join us also.
