  • End Immigration Detention of Children
Thousands of children are detained every day, simply because they were forced to leave their home countries and do not have visas. The global campaign to end the detention of immigrant children focuses on Australia, Greece, Mexico, Israel, Malaysia, South Africa and the United States. In May the campaign focuses on Australia. Australia alone currently holds 428 children often in remote and secure facilities. The youngest unaccompanied child in the Australian Immigration Minister’s care will have spent a year in detention in May. The girl was only six years old when she arrived on a boat without her parents. She is presently locked in her third detention facility with no prospects of being released. The youngest child with parents in detention is two years old and was born there. After birth, the mother and newborn were returned to the locked facility. In practice, most unaccompanied minors and families are locked up for months before being released into a community-based alternative with certain conditions. Do you support the call to end child detention in Australia? --- Wear this picbadge on your profile photo during the month of May. Children don't belong in detention! Want to do more? • Teach Respect
Every child has the right to be safe and free from discrimination, prejudice and bullying. The Convention on the Rights of the Child specifies not just the rights of the child, but also his or her responsibilities to those rights. This includes responsibility to respect the human rights and fundamental freedoms of others, and for the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. As a society, therefore, we must educate children to ensure they develop positive attitudes and behaviours and avoid using their power to bully, harass or discriminate against others. The responsibility to protect children from all forms of discrimination, prejudice and abuse, including bullying, is the responsibility of parents, teachers, and other adults in the community who are in contact with children. At home, parents are responsible for their children's safety and well-being, in school it is their teachers. Adults in school, on sports teams, and in community activities are all responsible for the safety and well-being of children in their care. By promoting healthy relationships, we can prevent bullying and support children in developing social skills, understanding and respect, social responsibility, and citizenship.

  • PRC- Please Respect Curry
This badge is created in solidarity with the Singaporean Indian family who were obliged to refrain from cooking/ consuming curry (a staple dish), due to the series of complaints from their mainland chinese (PRC) new neighbors. A message to all migrants of any nation… please learn to respect the culture/ tastes/ livelihood of the locals. it is your duty to integrate yourselves, not the other way around.

  • WE RESPECT ALL THE RELIGION
I’m dreaming about the world, where all people will treat others the way, which they wish to be treated. The world, where nobody lies, cheats, using others for dirty goals. Where is no violence, no hate, no envying. Where people are for each other humans, not wolves. I know, that I am idealist, but if I can respect all people, forgetting about so silly things like religions, nationalities, and colours of skin, so everybody can. All, what we need is just good will. And as somebody said: “Where is good will, there is great way” Regards WAQAR AHMED
