At International Animal Rescue we do exactly what our name says - we save animals from suffering around the world. We rescue and rehabilitate dancing bears in India, rescue orangutans and other primates from animal traffickers in Indonesia and treat stray dogs and cats around the world. And so much more... Whenever we can, we release rescued animals back into the wild. And when that's not possible, we give them a safe haven for life.
We work with other like-minded organisations and government departments to develop sound legislation to protect animals from cruelty and neglect. We also strive to educate the public in the compassionate and humane treatment of all animals. We use sound scientific evidence to inform our decisions and determine the course of our rescue operations. In all that we do we seek to find practical solutions that benefit both animals and people.

Thank you on behalf of the animals.
The single greatest threat facing orangutans today is the rapidly expanding palm oil trade. Rainforests are being cleared at the rate of 300 football fields per hour to make way for oil palm plantations.
While there are millions of hectares of degraded land that could be used for plantations, many oil palm companies choose to instead use rainforest land to gain additional profits by logging the timber first. Palm oil companies also frequently use uncontrolled burning to clear the land, resulting in thousands of orangutans being burned to death. Those that survive have nowhere to live and nothing left to eat and are murdered when they wander onto palm oil plantations and their babies stolen.
On my recent trip to Kalimantan I met the team from the Centre For Orangutan Protection. Hardi & his staff do an amazing job. I cant wait to share with everybody their story....Thanks guys for showing me the full story of palm oil & these amazing orangutans.
Deforestation due to illegal logging, palm oil and paper pulp production in the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia are destroying our planet and account for 20% of global warming. These dark secrets are relatively unknown and need exposing to enable us to make informed choices and take immediate action. We hope this exhibition gets people thinking about the near extinction of over 3,000 species of flora and fauna Indigenous to these rainforests including the orangutan.
